Each Sunday of our Generosity Campaign a member of Holy Trinity will offer a Generosity Moment that illustrates how they are generous with their gifts here at Holy Trinity. This week Ken shared with us about how he offers talents to help the church.

When Pastor asked me to talk about Talents, I wondered why me? I have no talent that would make me an expert on the subject. So, I took the time to look up the word talent in the dictionary and found that it means” a special ability to do something well.” That seemed a little too narrow in my mind so I decided to expand that to mean “the ability to share one’s gifts for the benefit of others.” After looking at my meaning for several minutes it occurred to me that is not that what a Church is, sharing one’s gifts for the benefit of others? Now many of us have special talents that were given to us by God: singer, writer, athlete, musician, artist etc. but we all share the ability to use our other God given gifts, reader, usher, financial secretary, property chairman, envelope stuffer, planner, council member or just plain friend for the benefit of others. So, during this season of stewardship let your abilities and talents, whatever they may be, let our Church reap the benefits of your gifts.
Remember in Matthew and Luke the Parable of the Talents, where the master gave his servants money to invest while he was gone and then rewarded those who invested it wisely. Invest your gifts and abilities both in life and in our church and you will find yourself richly rewarded as well.
